Join Flow Acupuncture Sunday, October 10th at 10am in Sugarhouse Park for a 45 minute immunity-boosting themed class!
Vanessa Mock, MAOM, L.Ac., will lead the class through a 30-minute Qi Gong practice followed by a 15-minute guided Yoga Nidra meditation that will conclude with some gentle breathwork. Dr. Alessandra Young, DOM, L.Ac. will play crystal sound bowls for the entirety of the class and meditation. A gift bag of Chinese medicine goodies, including a recipe and sample for an immunity-boosting medicinal herbal tea will be given to all registered attendees. What can I expect? Qi Gong is a form of moving meditation synchronized with deep breathing. It tends to have a theme or focus, such as strengthening the organ systems, reducing pain, emotional release, etc... For this class, the general theme will be movements that help enhance one's innate immune system, otherwise known as Defensive Qi or Wei Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Sound bowl therapy has been shown to reduce feelings of tension, anxiety, stress and depression. Different sized bowls will be used for this class to produce a variety of tones to harness and enhance a deeper sense of calm throughout the practice. Please bring a yoga mat, water, and dress for the weather! This class is FREE but registration is required to sign the waivers and ensure your goodie bag!
